What we collect
We collect the information you provide when creating an account and building your profile: email address, name, date of birth, gender, city/region, denomination, languages, village or parish, photos, prompt answers, and optional voice notes. With your permission, we collect coarse location coordinates to calculate approximate distances between members. We also collect activity data such as likes, matches, messages, reports, and basic device information needed to deliver push notifications and keep accounts secure.
How we use your data
We use your data to operate the service: display your profile to compatible members, calculate distance matches, deliver likes, matches, and messages, send notifications, process subscriptions, and enforce our rules. We also use it to keep the community safe through moderation, verification, fraud prevention, and account security. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Who can see your information
Your profile, photos, prompts, and public profile details are visible to other authenticated ShlamaMatch members who meet your filters and whom you are not blocking. Your email address, exact coordinates, account settings, and verification selfies are never shown to other members. Verification selfies are reviewed internally and then deleted or stored securely for audit purposes only.
Photos, media, and storage
Photos and voice notes are stored in access-controlled cloud storage. They are only viewable or playable by members permitted to see your profile based on our matching and blocking rules. We use platform-provided storage and security controls; the app owner configures access policies and reviews them regularly.
Notifications
We generate in-app notifications when you receive likes, matches, messages, or other activity. If you opt in, we send push notifications through your device's platform services and may send transactional emails from our own domain. You can manage notification preferences in the app settings.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscription payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe, depending on your platform. We receive a subscription status from the platform and do not store full payment card details. Refer to Apple's, Google's, or Stripe's privacy policies for information about how they handle payment data.
Cookies and analytics
The ShlamaMatch app does not use traditional web cookies. Our website and marketing pages may use standard analytics tools to understand traffic and improve our service. You can control analytics tracking through your browser or device settings.
Your rights and choices
You can edit or delete your profile information at any time from the Profile screen. You can permanently delete your account, which removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, likes, notifications, and reports from active systems. For data download or deletion requests, email privacy@shlamamatch.com.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove your data from production systems within 30 days. We may retain limited records longer where required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons, such as records of serious violations or disputes.
Children
ShlamaMatch is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, please report the profile immediately.
International users
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our hosting and service providers operate. By using ShlamaMatch, you consent to this transfer. We rely on standard contractual protections and platform security controls where applicable.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission, access-controlled storage, authenticated APIs, and row-level security rules. No online service is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and report any suspected unauthorized access.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of ShlamaMatch after the changes means you accept the updated policy.
